| Lakevortex.com has actually been around for a lot of years on the Web. We first started this site approx. 10 years ago and never advertised it at all. It actually started because I have a habit of doing my reading on the internet to try and keep up with what is going on in my community. I wanted a nice site that had links to all the important groups, schools, etc. in my community. As I found or compiled lists of information and links I started keeping it on my own little web site for easier reference. |
As my friends, family, neighbors etc. needed to find info and I told them I had the link I realized there might be some other people interested in using a site like this once in a while. I decided that I was also going to start using it to promote the local programs and groups that I believe are important to my beliefs that all people should have a civic duty to stay involved with their community. One of the problems I see is many people get involved and form "stands" or "beliefs" without actually have the full or correct data. I will also attempt to compile and make easily available data on current issues. |
